Brownstone – Merlot 2017
Looking for an easy drinking Merlot? This one is a great choice! I came across this enjoyable red during a wine tasting at our local liquor store. Peter, the sales rep for CTS Distributing, had this beauty alongside the Brownstone Pinot and Tempranillo. All were delicious, but this one pushed my happy buttons.
I really enjoy running into a Friday evening tasting as I’m always looking to try something new. Merlot’s, Cab’s, any red really is an excellent way of getting my attention. And, if I like I’ll buy it!
This is a great wine with a great price point of $11.99.
My Notes
I found it to be well balanced with a pleasing finish. It is on the drier side, which I prefer, yet this Merlot is still bold and fruit forward without being heavy. The berry and plum compliment the soft oak flavor detected. Very smooth and not at all acidic. The lightness of this wine made for easy drinking and would make for a perfect table wine to have on hand.
