In the span of just two days, our world was turned

In the span of just two days, our world was turned completely upside down.

We said goodbye to both of our beloved dogs, and then we lost our expected grandson.

Although we are still grieving, the healing has begun.

Little by little the days and nights are becoming easier.

The sudden emptiness and quiet in our home is lifting.

Our life is different now, but we are finding peace and happiness in our memories. We are so grateful for what we had, and very thankful for what we still have. ❤️🐕🐕👣❤️

The past few weeks have completely reshaped the rhythm of our days.

Both of our sweet dogs were recently diagnosed with different cancers. It's the kind of news that changes everything in an instant, and we're learning what this season looks like one day at a time. Our focus now is simple: loving them well, keeping them comfortable, and treasuring every day we have together.

In the middle of it all, life still needs tending. The garden still needs work. Home still needs caring for.

I've found that returning to those familiar rhythms doesn't change the hard news, but it does bring a little steadiness. It reminds me to slow down, appreciate the small moments, and be grateful for what's right in front of me.

Right now, we're simply taking this season one day at a time.

There's just something about this stovetop simmer. Simple moments like this have a way of turning an ordinary day into something special. I love how clean and fresh it makes our home smell.

Add a few sprigs of rosemary, lemon slices, a tablespoon of good vanilla extract, and fresh ground pepper. Simmer on low and add water as needed throughout the day.
