Natura – Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Do you ever feel like you need a vacation but it just isn’t in the cards right now? This Natura Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 will take you to Chile with a pop of the cork! This organic winery produces vegan wines that will have you coming back for more. After enjoying this bottle and checking out their website, I’m encouraged to try some of the other varietals for comparison (especially their Carmenere). At $11 a bottle I think I’ll do just that!

The beautiful color of this wine is truly a bright ruby hue. Yes, the strand of lights in the background reflect a funky purple color. But hold your glass to the light with this one. It’s beautiful.

This would make a great crowd pleaser as it’s neutral enough to pair with pizza, spaghetti or my all time favorite…steak 🙂

My Notes

Right out of the gate this Cabernet had a hearty and welcoming bold aroma. I identified the oak and vanilla in the first sniff and couldn’t wait to taste it. The first sip revealed a warm earthy mix of unripened plumbs (meaning fruit heavy but not sweet) and toffee. It did have a slight pepper kick which added interest.

The exhale was full and really opened up the dark fruit flavors. The finish was dry and didn’t linger too long.

Winemakers Notes

“Bright ruby red. Natura Cabernet Sauvignon has notes of red and black berries with hints of vanilla and toffee from the oak. The taste is lush and complex.” – Natura
