Rodney Strong – Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
This beautiful Rodney Strong – Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 was given to us by a fellow red wine loving friend. He enjoyed it so much that he purchased an entire case!
Once this hit my nose I was just as hooked. After my first sip…*sigh* it was over! My husband procured a few more bottles because we truly enjoyed its delightful deliciousness.
At $22 a bottle I felt alright having a few more another bottle. And I really, really needed to be sure my review was accurate.
Well folks, the vote has been tallied. Survey says…this Cab will not let you down! Bold enough to stand alone yet gets along so well with others.
We will need a case of this to have on hand for steak dinners, when a pick-me-up is needed or just to enjoy any day of the week!
My Notes
I’m so happy that we were introduced to the Rodney Strong – Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 around the holidays. I noticed that it had hints of the season.
The plum was obviously amazing. And then the black cherry stepped up reminding me of the cider we used to get in Lyons, CO with my grandparents as a child. That one was always my favorite!
As I admired the legs of this Cab while swirling my glass the spices came into focus. But, I couldn’t place them until I read the Winemaker Notes. Yes, now I could detect the baking spices and black pepper. I did a little happy dance and reveled in the finish.
Winemaker Notes
Rich with dark cherry, plum and baking spices. The delicious fruit is accompanied by black pepper notes, crushed violet and cassis. The palate has medium tannins, lingering spicy oak flavors with a velvety lush finish.
Enjoy this Cabernet with a grilled steak, rack of lamb or grilled winter vegetables.
