Rotllan Torra 2012
I want to share another fabulous Spanish wine with you! The Rotllan Torra family has been producing wines from their current rugged location for over 35 years. Their passion has produced this delicious blend which will remind you of summer. This wine has a bright aroma like fresh cut grass or suntan lotion. It will have you longing for endless warm days. The Priorat county from which this wine is created makes for an decidedly elevated table wine. At $20 a bottle you should try it for yourself! It is an easy choice for easy drinking and relaxing.
My Notes
The berries were heavy on the nose and it was interesting to figure them out. Blueberries? Side of coconut (not a berry at all)? The smell was very new. Almost as if it was bottled immediately! I really enjoyed swirling and smelling this Rotllan Torra over and over and found the flavor continued with the berries. But, it wasn’t as bold as I anticipated. New leather and maybe a hint of mocha also appeared. The finish was long and enjoyable with a slight peppered spice.
I swirled and smelled after each sip. It got happier and more vibrant! You will want to let this one breathe for about an hour for the smell and flavors to fully develop.
