No Sew Infinity Dog Scarf

Hello my fellow Pup Parents! Today on the blog I’m sharing how I made this easy No Sew Infinity Dog Scarf.

I know our pups don’t need these for warmth. These are more for our happiness. Hendrix, our Bernedoodle, just loves to wear them. Vaughan, our Bouvier, on the other hand just humors me and always finds a way to get it off!

This “pattern” resembles the fleece tie blankets you’ve probably seen online. And, this project can be done with any extra fabric you might already have on hand. I picked this fleece up from Hobby Lobby as it fits in with our Christmas theme of neutrals.

No sewing, just cutting

Because I roughly measured how much fabric I would need, the original cut was a little off. I loosely wrapped the fabric around Vaughan’s neck and thought it would be long enough. Boy was I wrong!

So, let’s pretend the first piece was the perfect size. It was a 2′ 10″ x 12″ of fleece.

Using the same technique from the fleece tie blankets, I cut each short end into strips about 4″ long.

From here, I proceeded to tie the strips together forming a scarf. I repeated these steps to make a second infinity dog scarf. I then twisted the fabric into a figure 8 to complete 2 loops…like the infinity scarves we wear.

So, we tried them on! As you can see, the Bouve and Doodle were not impressed. Vaughan’s is so short you can’t even see it behind his beard! Hendrix’s face is just pure disappointment.

Thank goodness I had more fabric. After untying both scarfs, I cut another two pieces 1′ 6″ x 12″ (one for each scarf, below) and repeated the cut strips on the short ends. This became my extension piece. It kind of reminds me of a necklace extender, if that helps. I then tied the strips of the long piece to the short piece, brought the open ends together and tied those and the fit was so much better!

So, the Bouv and Doodle were happy and went out to play in their new scarves for a bit.

Vaughan did come back inside after a while. He seemed like he was hiding something because he was avoiding us. We finally got him to come over to us and, lo and behold, his scarf was off! Yep, I found it out back in the snow.

So, there you have it! I can’t promise it will be easy to keep it on your pup. But, it’s an easy no sew infinity dog scarf “pattern”!
